What are CAPs for?
1 Positive Water Credit (PAC) is a unit of measurement of the positive water impact associated with water resource and environmental preservation and restoration projects. Corresponds to 1,000 m3 of water footprint saved, also considering the environmental and social co-benefits of the water footprint compensation projects.
According to the ACT4water standard, each project is assigned a number of CAPs and each CAP has a price associated with it that reflects the degree of investment required to materialize and maintain the project actions that make possible the generation of environmental and social benefits.
Organizations that want to offset their impact can acquire CAPs, thus facilitating investment in projects that benefit watersheds and minimize risks for all their users.
